Claire Elizabeth Jackson
Claire Elizabeth Jackson studied Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford University. She has enjoyed a portfolio of careers and is an experienced and qualified art teacher.
Nowadays her preferred subject matter for artwork includes portraits, still life and memory paintings: a form of autobiography.
Claire has exhibited widely over the years and one of her portraits has been shown at the National Portrait Gallery Portrait Award show in London. Recently she held two one-woman shows at Leicester’s New Walk Gallery featuring portraits of members of the diverse faith communities of Leicester.
Claire is currently running classes for people who feel they “can’t even draw a straight line” yet would really love to draw and paint. The results are a delight for the new artists and the teacher. The technique is based on a very straightforward principle – under expert guidance, draw or paint something that really matters to you and you’ll forget all about this “can’t draw a straight line” business.
