Emma grew up loving to draw and paint but life took her down a different path and she barely picked up a pencil in 15 years. In 2011 Emma decided to start drawing again and has never looked back.
Starting with portraiture, which she still does, often on a commission basis and working from photographs. Emma now also spends a lot of time on figurative pieces, working directly from the model at life sessions. She finds this very freeing, and allows her to be much more expressive and and bring more abstract elements into my the work. Emma also likes to experiment with different materials and try to evoke a sense of emotion and atmosphere through use of line, texture and colour. Emma also likes to get outside and sketch or paint when she can.
Emma is still growing as an artist and is constantly seeking to develop her skills.
