CANCELLATION - Celebrating Drawing - Wed 18th March - DMU

Message from Alex Roberts, DMU
As you are aware with the escalation of Covid-19 all logistics and events are in transition to adapt.  Subsequently, this includes visiting artists/ lecturers' workshops and public engagement events within Leicester School or Art and at the Leicester Gallery.
As a result, Celebrating Drawing - Wed 18th March will not go ahead, this involves this evening's talk I was due to host with Penny and Jeanette in the gallery.  Julian Wild’s Talk & Making the Connection collaborative event on Sat 28th March is equally cancelled.
The view is to hopefully postpone the various events to an alternative, later date once the international, present health situation has eased.  I will keep you posted.  Please could you share this news with your members ASAP.
Thank you for your interest so far with the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2019 and this season that is championing drawing.  For those that have sent me requests, catalogues for the TBWDP19 are available to gain remotely from the Leicester Gallery, so you do not have to completely miss out!  Please contact the gallery for more details: http://thegallery.dmu.ac.uk
Wishing all your members good health and upbeat spirits as we adapt.
Kind regards,
Alex.

CANCELLATION - Leicester Sketch Club activities - till June

As a response to the recent advice about social distancing and reducing the possibility of coronavirus transmission, we have reluctantly come to the conclusion that we must cancel all INDOOR activities until June when we will be sending further information. This includes the monthly meetings for April, May and June, also various workshops, indoor sketching sessions, Cosy Club etc. No decision has been made on Outdoor Sketching at this time and that will depend on conditions nearer the time.

We will regularly review this and keep you informed. Although we may be socially distant we do want to keep in touch and hope members can still feel included - to this end, we will be offering virtual alternative activities which can be  done without face to face meetings for any who wish to join in - let's keep the club vibrant!  These will be sent as separate emails.

We will re-book workshop sessions at a later date where possible. If you have already paid for a workshop etc this will be dealt with in separate emails.

Please be assured that your participation in the club is much appreciated and we look forward to resuming activities as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we wish all of you well, please keep in touch.
