The Members’ Demo Day trial event for our Monthly Meeting has received very positive feedback from new members and long standing ones.
A huge thank you to those experienced members who generously volunteered to share their time, materials and expertise for the afternoon to make it such a success. Members got to learn about different approaches and materials, a chance to ask questions in an encouraging environment plus a chance to meet members. The committee think it an important event for the club and should be repeated next year. A special thanks from all of the members to Di Lorriman, Susan Sansome, Vivien Blackburn, John Nixon, Bradley Phelps, Suzanne Harry, Brigitte Thomas, Ros Kite, Lisa Timmerman and Helen Newton for being our guest artists. It was new territory for the Club in a new venue with a short set up time slot so it was great to have such focused help. We really appreciated those doing the setting up of tables and chairs (Bradley Phelps, Alan Willey, Eleanor Napier), particularly helpful car park stewarding (Alan Willey, Kate Muir, Bradly Phelps ) the hall generally, raffle (bumper takings – Christine Mannion and Jenny Riseborough), refreshments, Marion Williams, welcome table and bookings (Sheena Henderson, Marjorie Walter) graphics, (Mick Sadler) photos (Bali) , bringing and setting up food and teas (Alan Willey, Alison Cork and others) flask borrower (Helen Newton), event organiser (Emma Fitzpatrick) and all those not mentioned that helped in making it a smooth and enjoyable event. Looking forward to next year’s event.
