Stephen Barrett
Stephen studied Illustration at the North Wales School of Art & Design and Children’s Book Illustration at Nottingham Trent University. He generally creates illustration work that is primarily done in black and white ink, preferring to use a V ball point pen that has a constant flow of ink and feels good in the hand and allows him to work in a very detailed way. His speciality is black and white animal or wildlife illustration which stems from his commitment and enthusiasm for wildlife conservation. During the past few years, he has worked on and illustrated his first children’s picture book. Some of his black and white detailed work went on show in 2024 at the Leicester Adult Education College where he had a black & white ink illustration piece entitled Maharajah Ranjit Singh – An Illustrated Life exhibited at the Contemporary Sikh Arts Exhibition. |
