Alison Cork
At the beginning of 2010 Alison retired from a career in educational management to focus on painting. The following year she completed the BTEC Foundation Programme in Art and Design. Apart from this, she is largely self-taught. Alison is still very much at the stage of exploring techniques and approaches. In 2015 she had a work selected for the Leicester Open Exhibition. Alison uses oil, acrylic, watercolour, mono printing and collage. She do not follow particular themes, but everyday surroundings and objects provide her subject matter. Recently Alison has started to explore portraiture. She enjoys using colour. Manet and Cézanne are two favourite artists who give her inspiration. |
