Brigitte Thomas
Brigitte works in charcoal, mixed media, acrylic and oil. "I love the fluidity and versatility of charcoal. I may work rapidly or more cautiously - it is not unusual for me to make abrupt changes whatever the medium - partially destroying and re-working an image until I have captured the essence of what I'm trying to say. Sometimes, my paintings feel like a conversation with myself, uncovering new personal insights. My current studies are from life, where I endeavour to depict something of the human character and condition, for which I have much abstract compassion. I embrace the challenge of capturing light, and have a growing interest in semi-abstract images from nature. I hope that my work will show varying qualities depending how I feel - at times being dynamic, raw and layered, at others reflecting sensitivity and tenderness." Brigitte has exhibited in Leicester and Leicestershire. During the next year she will attend a course at Newlyn School of Art (2016) Website www.artbt.co.uk Follow Brigitte's Pinterest Page Contact: [email protected] |
