Joanna Fairley
Joanna has always enjoyed painting. While the children were small she didn't have much time but about 15 years ago took it up again more seriously. Joanna generally uses watercolour and likes to paint loosely and usually wet into wet . A large number of her paintings are inspired by Scottish scenery where she was brought up. Her aim with her pictures is to create atmosphere rather than just reproducing a scene and many finish up quite abstracted. Joanna loves the way when using watercolour the picture leads you on a journey which can be different from your original thought. She could paint skies, mountains water and trees all the time as they constantly change due to the time of year, time of day and the weather.
