Katie MacDowel
Katie's interest in painting began about 30 years ago living in the Farnham area of Surrey where she spent her adult years before moving to Leicester in 2015. While Katie has not had any formal art school training, she has worked over the years with a variety of tutors including Mike Bernard RI, Roger Dellar RI, Paul Banning RI and Liz Seward SWA. Katie's paintings are mainly mixed media using fluid media and collage to give impressionistic, semi abstract and colourful representation. Katie is a member of the Armed Forces Art Society with whom she has exhibited at the Mall Galleries during the last 12 years, winning several prizes. Katie's membership of the Society of Floral Painters ceased in 2016 but she was also the recipient of several prizes during exhibitions around the south of England. On several occasions Katie has been accepted by the RI and the SWA open exhibitions. Katie is now looking forward to joining the art world of Leicester. |
